Mad About Hue: Blackout

Nothing shouts burgeoning fashionista like its most fabulously “functional” uniform. All black, from topknot to ankle strap.

Monochrome black outfits are the epitome of sharp and, dangerously chic. But our fave part? They’re easy to accomplish.

Easy, however, does not mean boring. Bring dark to life by mixing textures!

Elevate your blackout look by banking on the hue’s intensity. Take it to the edge by contrasting smooth and sultry (leather and waxed denim) with warm and fuzzy (suede, velvet or knits). There are endless outfit possibilities in our most beloved hue (errrr, we mean shade).

Pair the pointed toe block heeled ankle boot with opaque black tights and a black leather mini-dress for a contemporary take on mod. Then add a tinge of goth with statement earrings. Rock your much loved black skinnies (yes, the ones you wear every other day) with a black crepe blouse buttoned to the top (for that prep twist), a chunky black knit circle scarf, and just for fun an all black backpack. Round out the look with the platform power of the lace-up bootie: sleek simplicity straight from the dark side.
