Side by Side: The Perfect Perforations
The fact of the matter is – perforations are pervasive.
Athletic and tech inspired footwear and apparel was seen on the spring/summer 2014 runways of Céline, Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Christian Dior and countless others. From interpretations like oversized mesh jerseys, to perforated trimmings on summer jackets and crewnecks, the trend from early 90’s is clearly back in action.
Before warm and bright weather is in full effect, letting you sport the holy trend to the maximum, you’ll want to score the perfect pair of perforated booties to stay ahead of the game. From its back zipper to its block heel, the Mazzucco wields wow-factor in more ways than one. This ankle boot’s charm is exposed in its fully perforated leather upper.
To transition your wardrobe into the season, make room for layers of ivory, pale pink, camel and cognac, in everything from soft wool felt to light cashmere knits.
There are infinite outfit possibilities with this show stopping bootie, but we settled on two – for now.
Do an ivory look with an asymmetrically cut mini skirt, an oatmeal coloured cable knit sweater – covered with a chic shearling motorcycle jacket. Pair the outfit with the taupe Mazzucco – add black ankle socks for a slight contrast. Or, play it safe and wear tonal socks.
Layer your camel coat over a lightweight cowl neck sweater and some crisp white denim. Then, dare to bare: top the look off with the bootie worn without socks and truly feel the fresh air of spring.
Toughest decision you’ll have to make?
With socks, or without.
