TOE-TO-TOE: POWER TO THE PUMP
Footwear fanatics, rejoice. Ever zoom-in on a stunning pair (cue halo and godly chants), and ask yourself. “How am I going to pull those off?” Lucky for you, we’re one step ahead. We’ll be showcasing two Head Office Style Mavens twinsing out the same pair, yet styled to their own personal perfection. Here they go, toe-to-toe.
The contender: BUSACK
Kathy Acimovic, Senior Strategist for ALDO
Playing dress-up is an everyday affair for the hyper-girly star strategist. She would sooner opt for pretty floral dress than separates any day. Her other wardrobe go-to? The oversized sweatshirt. Though her mood may sway her style regime on a given day, the one thing she’s excited about is playing with shoes. Because, shoes are fun. D’uh.
“I always start with the shoes,” says Acimovic. “It helps narrow down the choices. (Just a guess: she must have a lot of shoes.) The obvious next step for the feminine femme is to “look for something to help pop the [shoe] colour.” Surprised she’s matchy-matchy? That’s an understatement.
NORMAL IS BORING
“I hate black shoes,” says Acimovic. No wonder she hand-picked the cobalt croc-embossed cut-out pumps. “Together blue and black pop, as well as match with everything. It just makes for a very interesting basic.”
Can you say fall staple? Because Acimovic swears by the key trend elements infused in the conception of these beauties. “We’ll be seeing a lot of this hue in fall. Plus, cut-outs are a must, and exotic textures? It’s all about snakeskin textures.”
Daniela Figueroa, Product Developer for ALDO Ladies
Fashion naturally flows through this product developer veins (you can thank her for the freshest styles in our stores). With so many outfit ideas dancing around in her head, how does she narrow down her daily looks? “It’s not about feeling comfortable, it’s about what I want to put out there. [Style] is an extension of who I want to be,” says Figueroa. “Clothes have the power to help you be a better version of yourself.”
“I love how they’re blue with black lining; it makes them sophisticated yet masculine,” says Figueroa. And that’s where the inspiration began: she threw on a lady-like pencil skirt for polish, crop-top for edge, but threw on a bomber jacket and cap to inject some manliness. Talk about thought-through.
How will she wear these next? “Black skinnies with navy or white t-shirt, and definitely a leather jacket with an oversized leather tote. Oh! Or a down-to-the-knee sweater and tons of ring,” says Figueroa. The possibilities are infinite.
HEIGHT OF PERFECTION
Figueroa preaches how this two-piece pair summarizes the direction footwear is going in for fall. “It has the perfect height; they’re single-sole and the embossed croc is matte.” Insert that “hello” look.
